Pea and sweet corn washing line

The Herbort 370 D flotation washer with shaker is intended for intensely washing and clearing peasand sweet corn of dirt, stones, leaves, pod pieces and whole pods. During this process, the produce moves through multiple stages using the flow of water which is kept in a closed circulation to minimise water usage. The machine contains five main stages namely the fishtail infeed, destoning conveyer, flotation washer, dewatering shaker and rotary filter.

Fish-tail infeed

The fishtail infeed makes sure al produce is evenly spread over the work width of the machine, this for an optimal product processing.

Destoner belt

Next in line is the destoning conveyor, the heavy stones get caught in the conveyer which is moving into the waterflow. The lighter produce flows over the conveyor, the collected stones exit via a double valved exit.

Flotation washer

Inside the flotation washer the produce sinks to the bottom and flows to the dewatering shaker. The lighter, floating objects flow over the edge and go to the rotary filter. The water inside the flotation washer is agitated to enhance this proces.

Dewatering shaker

The dewatering shaker using two vibration motors, divides the incoming produce over three levels, by usage of a sieve the produce reach the middle level and the larger pieces stays on the top level.The water reaches the lower level and flows to the rotary filter. Meanwhile the produce gets sprayed to clean the product of any access dirt or sand. Because the angulation of the shaker the produce eventually reach the outfeed.

Water cleansing

The water reaches the lower level and flows to the rotary filter.
In order to clean the drum after filtering, a single scraper is provided outside the machine
scraping the drum while rotating.
